On 20 November 2007 my Dad, Bill Wilkinson, died.
His Death Certificate stated that the cause of death was from prostate cancer. What it didn’t say was that he died the first time, at some stage well before that, slowly, from dementia. The Death Certificate also didn’t say what a terrible thief dementia is and how it stole from him and his family. Sadly, my Dad's sister Mary, and his brother Norman also had dementia when they died. 2017 will be the 10th anniversary of his second death. When I saw that the Mater Foundation was running the “Miles for Memories” a hike in Yosemite National Park in 2017, I knew this was the hike for me. Hopefully, with your support we can help Mater Foundation arrest dementia by using the green “Give Now” button above and making a tax deductible donation.
I'm inspired by the work of Mater Foundation and I want to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Miles for Memories 2017. The more people that know about Mater Foundation, the greater the impact, so please spread the word by sharing this page with your friends and family. Thank you for your generosity.
